Chief Superintendent Elaine Jenkinson is the head of the police in Broadchurch, she gave a promotion she had promised Ellie Miller to DI Alec Hardy . She also had doubts with Hardy handeling the Daniel Latimer murder, because of him working on the Sandbrook murders.
